first of all please download the latest version of IconEdit Pro from the download page and check if the bug still occurs
| problem | Setup says that it has to update some system files and restarts the computer. When I run Setup after I have restarted this message appears again and again... |
| solution | Remove all commands like 'DEL
C:\TEMP\*.*' from your AUTOEXEC.BAT Also don't use a RAM-Disk for your temporary files! |
| problem | The Setup doesn't work though I try to install the version with all runtime files (ie60max.zip). |
| solution | This is a bug in Visual Basic. Download the Visual Basic 6.0 runtime files (vbrun60.exe) from the download page and start the file. After this the setup should work |
| problem | When I start IconEdit Pro I get the error message 'Unexpected Error' and the program quits |
| solution | IconEdit Pro 6.0 needs the
NEWEST Visual Basic 6.0 runtime files (Service Pack 1). Please download the complete package (ie60max.zip) which includes all needed files from the download page. |
| problem | The included help doesn't work. |
| solution | The help files of IconEdit Pro are based on the new Windows HTML-Help system which was introduced with Internet Explorer 4 and Windows 98. If you haven't installed one of these systems you have to install the 'Windows HTML-Help Update'. You can download the file from the download page. |
| problem | I want to run IconEdit Pro in English but when I start it it shows up in German. |
| solution | Just use the entry 'Language...' from the menu 'Spezial' to switch to English. |
| problem | I want to save an icon in UNIX format (XPM) but it isn't saved or it is corrupted. |
| solution | There are some problems in the XPM modul. I have already fixed these problems in the next version of IconEdit Pro (V7.0) which I hope to release soon... |
| problem | If I save an icon which already exists a message appears that the file is read only which isn't the case. |
| solution | If you click on 'Yes' to overwrite it the file is saved anyway. I have already fixed these problems in the next version of IconEdit Pro (V7.0) which I hope to release soon... |
| problem | I get an error message 'Can't register THREED32.OCX' when starting IconEdit Pro |
| solution | You need the file MFC40.DLL in
your system directory. You can download this file here
(430kb) or you can extract it from your Windows CD-ROM. Change to the setup directory of the CD-ROM where all the files WIN95_xx.CAB are located and enter the following command: EXTRACT /A /L C:\ WIN95_02.CAB MFC40.DLL After this the file is located on your harddisk C:. Copy it to your system directory (e.g. c:\windows\system) and IconEdit Pro should work. |
